Biz-Czar - the business plan presentation contest
If you fail to plan, then you’re planning to fail.
These famous words indicate how essential is planning before execution in what we believe. In context of business development, fool-proof planning turns indispensable as it involves investments in form of capital, labor, etc. BIZ-CZAR, the business plan presentation contest offers a platform for young entrepreneurs and for those who have a dream business idea, that they believe is worth revolutionary. If you think you possess the spark within and have what it takes to carve your niche in the corporate world, then come forward, fight this battle and let the world recognise the entrepreneur in you. It’s an opportunity to set your finances right and compete with some of the very best in the world of business.
The participants have to present a business idea with full knowledge of all its vital details like required resources and technology, investment index, current goals and future aspirations, sustainability according to the fast changing world along with rising of new patterns in economy and other major industrial structures. The idea and the layout of the whole business plan should also encompass the ins and outs and viability of the work and time required for generating profit and taking its hold on the market shares within its lowest feasible plan of action. It is a platform for technocrats to imbibe the business mogul in them.
Before the main event, there is a workshop organized on “Intricacies of designing a Business Plan” to acquaint the participants with the knowledge and a holistic view about the structure and layout of a good business plan. Afterwards abstracts are invited for the contest and from the pool, a required number of abstracts are shortlisted.
Biz-Czar got submissions from places as far as BITS, Pilani last year . Through the process of eliminations, ten teams were selected for the presentation rounds. They say, you may limit yourself to one profession but you cannot limit your brain dimension. The business plans encompassed almost everything, from crude engineering to pure advertising. The SWOT analyses and the future projections given by the participants spoke plenty about their entrepreneurship acumen as well as their soaring ambitions. The most practical project won the cash prize and went home with a re-ignited dream to see their business plan growing up into a successful venture.
The contest involves presentation of the business plan using PowerPoint presentation, along with hardcopies of the plan. The contestants are judged basically on the originality of their concept, rigorous briefing of the means and the goals for the success of their plan, and also on the management of the business, considering short term goals. Here are few guidelines for the participants:
  • There will be teams of maximum three authors.
  • Teams have to submit an abstract of their plan in not more than 300 words.
  • Teams will be allotted a time of 10 minutes for the presentation.
  • Teams have to submit two hard copies of the plan along with the presentation at the event.

The bottom of the pyramid is the largest, but poorest socio-economic group. In global terms, this is the 2.5 billion people who live on less than $2.50 per day. Any marketing strategy; until and unless it reaches the masses it can’t be termed as successful. The model assumes enhanced importance for a country like ours. Here we ask you to design an interface for a product or service of your choice targeting the Indian BOP so that projects can reach from the tables of the corporate CEO’s to the grass root level of the Indian consumer strata.
So start getting your act soon and submit your abstracts before 15th jan to quest@bits-quark.org.

Extra curricular activities need to be an essential part of every student's day.Naissance also provides a platform to the future managers of the country to exhibit their extra-curricular talents.
